Chelcia Petersen
Canadian, Chelcia Petersen, is a single mom, wine professional, and a survivor of narcissistic abuse who proved to herself that she was back in the “driver’s seat” of her life when she decided to enter Maxim Magazine’s Cover Girl Contest. Maxim uses the contest to raise awareness for the Wounded Warriors Foundation, and Chelcia decided to use her entrance in the contest as a way to raise awareness about narcissistic abuse and support World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day (WNAAD), which has been instrumental in her healing. So, she took to her Instagram and told her followers that for every vote cast for her in the Maxim contest over a 4-day period leading up to World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day on June 1st, 2020, she would donate $2 to WNAAD (up to $5000).
In four days, Chelcia raised $1860, which she donated to WNAAD via WNAAD's GoFundMe page. (https://www.gofundme.com/f/wnaad) We’re very proud of Chelcia for courageously sharing her truth and raising the profile of narcissistic abuse, and we appreciate her support. The Maxim contest runs until September. You can vote for Chelcia and support the Wounded Warriors Foundation by clicking the link>>> https://maximcovergirl.com/2020/chelcia-petersen
Update: Although Chelcia didn't win the Maxix Cover Girl Contest, she won our hearts and we thank her for her generous donation and for helping us raise awareness!
